PRIVACY POLICY · 13 OCTOBER 2026

Your kitchen
stays yours.

Your meals and lists stay on your iPhone.
Here’s how the app, purchases and support work.

1. Who is responsible

WFT? (“What’s For Tea?”) is an iPhone app provided by Sean Maguire (“we”, “us”). This policy explains the app, this support website and any support correspondence. For personal information we receive through support, Sean Maguire is the data controller.

Contact for support and privacy: wftmealapp@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your iPhone

WFT? saves your meal preferences, excluded ingredients, serving choices, favourites, cooking history, meal plans and shopping lists locally on your device. This allows the app to suggest dinners, keep your plan and prepare a shopping list. The developer does not receive this information automatically.

The app needs no account and includes no advertising, tracking SDK, analytics SDK or third-party crash-reporting integration. It sends no recipe or ingredient requests to an AI service. It does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone or location.

Nutrition calculations run on the device using the bundled recipe catalogue. WFT? does not connect to Apple Health or collect glucose readings, insulin details or health targets. Preferences may reveal something about your diet; they remain in local app storage unless you choose to share or export them.

3. Apple purchases and services

Apple processes App Store payments and subscriptions. WFT? uses Apple’s StoreKit service to receive product and verified purchase information, such as whether Plus is active, so it can unlock the correct features. The app does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password.

Apple may process App Store usage, purchase and diagnostic information under its own policies and your settings, and may make reports available to developers. Device backups may include WFT? data according to your Apple settings. These Apple services are separate from the app’s local storage.

See Apple’s privacy information. Manage or cancel Plus through your Apple subscription settings.

4. Backups, sharing and external links

You can export app data as a JSON backup, and share a shopping list or nutrition summary through the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination. A recipient or storage service then handles that copy under its own terms. Exported JSON files have no separate app-level encryption, so choose a suitable place to keep them.

Importing a backup replaces current app data after validation and confirmation. The app also keeps a previous-save copy on the device for recovery. Opening a nutrition source or other external link takes you to another provider’s website; that provider’s privacy policy applies there.

5. If you contact support

When you email us, we receive your email address, the name your email service includes, your message and any attachments or device details you choose to send. We use these to respond, investigate problems and keep a record of the conversation. Providing this information is optional, but we need a way to reply if you want a response.

We rely on our legitimate interests in providing support and improving the reliability of WFT? for ordinary support correspondence. Where needed to fulfil a contract with you or a legal obligation, that is the relevant basis. We do not use support messages for advertising or sell them.

Our support mailbox uses Google Gmail. Google processes messages to deliver and store the correspondence; see Google’s privacy policy. Please do not send payment-card details, passwords or sensitive health information. If a screenshot or backup is needed, remove unrelated personal information first.

Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, handle follow-up issues and meet applicable legal or record-keeping requirements. The nature of the issue, whether it remains open, and any obligation to preserve records determine that period.

6. This website

These support pages contain no advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, embedded media or externally loaded fonts. The page content does not set cookies or use browser storage.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Hosting services handle technical request data, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and request time, to deliver and protect the website. Provider-controlled cookies or security processing may apply separately from the page content.

Cloudflare may process technical data outside the UK. Its privacy notice describes its processing, retention and international-transfer arrangements: Cloudflare privacy policy. Email services may also process correspondence internationally under the arrangements of the service used.

7. Keeping and deleting app data

Local app data remains until you delete it or remove the app, subject to your device’s backup and restore behaviour. Older plan and cooking-history records can remain in storage and exports after the seven-day view advances.

Use Settings → Delete all local data to remove the app’s saved data and previous-save recovery copy from that device. You must delete exported files and manage operating-system backups separately. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase data held only on your device.

When Plus access ends, the app retains the earliest three planned nights in the next seven days, removes dinners on later nights and updates the shopping list. Older recovery or exported copies may still contain earlier records. Deleting local data or uninstalling WFT? does not cancel an Apple subscription.

8. Your choices and rights

You can export or delete local app data in Settings. For personal information we hold in support correspondence, you may ask to access, correct or erase it, restrict its use or receive a portable copy, where the relevant right applies.

You can object to our use of your information based on legitimate interests. Contact wftmealapp@gmail.com to exercise these rights or ask about our handling of your information. We may need proportionate information to verify a request.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. WFT? does not make automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects; its on-device recipe suggestions simply help you choose a meal.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app or our data practices change and change the date below. Material changes will be highlighted through an appropriate notice. This policy describes WFT? version 1.0 and these support pages.
